I can hear you
Kyle you have an upcoming interview with Kurtwood from 70s show. Do you think you could promise him final edit so that you could ask him about the missing episode of That 70s Show? Realize that he most likely has a multimillion dollar NDA. But if you could get him to say that he can't talk about it, that would be huge. I'd also love to hear if he thinks it is completely BS. I'd take his word...he could put the rumor to rest. Thanks I've got the notification set for 7/1.
Just wanted to say thank you to you and the fellas have you made my life so much easier in the bedtimes listening to you all play specially you Zack. Thank you all for everything.
In no particular order. LRP, Up, NAIHF.
I have just a COUPLE small gripes with Extraordinary Machine (and prefer the original Elizondo version), but otherwise... spot on!
G-Eazy 🔥
"Blum's doing it again!"
The point is, at that time, it was, seismic. Seismic enough because it was derogatory. It was derogatory. When people after, started in with, "it wasn't so bad," then the distance of time started making it not so bad. Estevez was a brat according to B-lum because he asked for a theatre discount?! WHO cares about that?! Point is, they weren't brats. Brat Pack was derogatory and had reverberating effects small and larger. Brat pack "didn't exist" solely because they weren't, brats or bratty. If Blum had any respect for these actors or what he did wrong, then or especially the current interview with McCarthy, it would be justified for doing the interview. But B-lum's responses are identical to what he said before! Blum seems to saying the exact thing he said in the first place. Blum can't even consider in any "devil's advocate" role about how any of these actors then, had to endure his definition of what they are how they were to be seen? Blum is STILL a screwed up journalist to be very, very, polite.
A bad drug trip is not a "beautiful thing," but we're forced to see it that way, aren't we?
"I'm born 1963. Whereby I understand when others DO NOT. This video is incredibly accurate up until the point you bring Blume in for his own point of view on his own generational mind cluster. What I'll add is, hippy's were the enemies of so called, loosely phrased, "punkers." You can see it every rock band from L.A. then, when hippy music producers deliberately de-legitimized L.A. bands with wimpy light production technique that sounded nothing like those bands sounded on stage, all in order to preserve the supposed sacredness of Woodstock bands. This being illustrated best by the film The Fabulous Stains; which was vainly & definitely misunderstood by kids born in 1964 & after; such as the Fabulous Stains one sole, knife wielding, "punker." The feeling was, very, real, although the actions weren't. It's a five second film scene. Blume may as well been the character inspiration for Fee Waybill's oxymoronic role in The Fabulous Stains. Get it, David Blume we hate you, we even hate your nepotist kids parented by hippies born after 1964, got it? You took the money and ran and no one to this day has been able to knock it away from your hands. Hold on to that buck. It's why Charlie is renown and Emilio isn't. The year born. Figure it out. WHY is Charlie esteemed and Emilio ISN'T?! It's a very simple, fair, question. The answer is evidence of everything I say here. Hippy's born in 1945 teamed up their born in 1964 kids, like they were their brothers not their children. Hippy generation parents forming grunge, but they also deliberated so that opportunity was to be kept from other aged people. Born in 1967, parents in 1945, you will ignorantly rule the world as we saw and still see. What are now coined nepo-babys. You can add critic Chris Willman to David Blume. McCabes regulars. The West L.A., University high school attendees who were Catholic, but by 1986 boldly started openly expressing their hatred of the bill of rights, pursuit of happiness etc, in lieu of their proclaimed church view as we all see by now & have seen, such as Pelosi & Biden, same hatred for the constitution, subversive or overtly. Both hippy aged."
It is also of worth notation specifically about this story above, similarly how David Cassidy once explained the "mass tune in by all" for the partridge family in 1970, all saw this brat pack story and it was detrimental. Whether it was overcame or was directly harmful to these actors, it was, initially, detrimental. I've tried to clarify it was more generational than what people admit or know. The acting career path now includes cable or internet channel productions, but in 1985, all there still were, are THREE networks. So to be knocked off your career acting feet by these three networks because of one misguided, lying journalist was unnecessary, did actually occur then, and hurt or lapsed distant fans of these actors. You were thinking at the time, "brat pack?" What is this story even talking about, because it has no truth in it, at all. Not only was it wrong, it didn't exist. That's what Andrew McCarthy's point is, but that may get lost in the wash? It involved just a few actors and they controlled nothing, and fir B-l-um to imply they had power or control in 1985 is a bold faced lie, that he can speak and continues here to speak because he's got an electric amplifier that probably his employer needed and still needs to take away from him! But others in 1985, that didn't know, believed it. Unless you were like me personally and started to do the same journalist duty to films of their generation then, such The Big Chill and Terms Of Endearment, the actors above had their careers damaged.
Great album Gerald… way to rebound.
Hall is always a drama queen
loved Sweet Jane and Lay it down, trinity sessions, to name a few, and love Margo Timmins vocals from the beginning. great compassionate insightful interview~
I love his laugh ❤
Fables and Life's Rich Pageant
He's either covering a hickey ORRRR he's nervous. He's covering his vitals (his neck), the whole time... Anxiety😢 I wish he would stop with the makeup and the MGK emo songs. But "Freak Show", "WTFDIK", AND "Say Less" are bangers!!!! Lady Killers II and III are all fire!!!!!!

OMG - this is so great - Michael agrees with me! 😂 Can't believe how hard it is to get my friends who think REM "sold out" (when they went to Warner) to even give this album a chance. Their loss I guess.

I swear I am one of 3 people who watch your podcast on you tube🤔 regularly ...there are rarely other comments or views or likes here. I feel like a unicorn too🦄....one of the last in the you tube communication dimension watching these podcasts as they premiere. Kyle, where in social media are the bulk of your viwers watching in from? 🎥📷🖥
One of life's great mysteries. :-) The actual story is that the podcast does really well, with about 90k listeners a week across all of the platforms. Plus, I air portions of every interview on my show on WFPK, which is another 50k-80k listeners. And then there's the attention is gets by being posted on Consequence's website, which sees millions of hits. The videos, and this site, is my favorite part of it all and does big numbers daily but only as a channel, but typically the new videos take a bit before they take off. Why? If I had that answer these would be doing so much better, so much more quickly. The algorithm gods have no blessed me just yet. But I certainly do appreciate you and your being here. :-)
Thank you for not signing your life away to Sony!! Tommy M sure misjudged that whole situation and thank God Russell turned him down because I don’t think we’d be watching this guy right here if Tommy got his claws into him.. Just ask Miriah..😮
